New Routine & Ellie's Health

Good morning all,

we've been trying to get back into the swing of things with the girls returning to school and Kaylee starting Pre-pre K as I like to call it.

Kaylee was very hesitant at first with her first day of school as it was all very new. One morning last week her teacher asked me while walking her to the van, "Is she always quiet?" I had to control my bursting desire to laugh and keep it to a smile and answer with, "Normally, no. She's normally loud and energetic, especially around her sisters. But she does tend to be a little quiet when she's away from her sisters and is in a new environment. Once she warms up to everyone, she will talk more." Her teacher was reassured by my answer and ended with, "Well she was very quiet and just observant today. I'm trying to get to know my new students. She started to talk to me towards the end of class though."

Once I got in the van with Kaylee and shut my door, Kaylee told me, "I love my teacher!" I smiled and responded with "That's good! You need to show it to her though, she likes it when you talk to her."

So, so far, Kaylee is still excited about school and loves to tell me she loves her teacher and now calls her by her teachers' name.

The older two, Abbie & Ellie, recently got to go to their first cheer clinic and will get to be a part of a football game opener and we are all excited about it! Their cheer leaders sent everyone the routines to practice so I will get to do the honors of teaching the girls their cheers to learn.

Since their gymnastics hasn't returned post covid, they have been missing it and wanting to get back. We talked to them and asked if they wanted to do cheer instead. Both girls were excited to join! They had to learn that in cheer, unlike gymnastics, they have to keep their shoes on. They weren't so thrilled about that part. lol

Little miss Emmy has moved out of our bedroom this past weekend and moved into the guest bedroom. We had moved dressers and a hutch around the two bedrooms. We put the tall dresser into the girls' room and put the short, long dresser into the guest bedroom and switched spots with where the hutch was. It looks and feels so much better in both rooms!

Surprisingly the tall dresser has way more storage space in the drawers than the long dresser did. Which I love that about it and now the girls' clothes can be in one location in their room. Between the older two, they quickly outgrew the long dresser. Emmy and Kaylee now share it.

I cleaned up the guest room and we put the bassinet at the end of the bed so Emmy could sleep in there. It has been so good with her out of the room! the last two nights, when Emmy wakes once in the night, I just hand her a bottle and she takes it and goes back to sleep. Which therefor I am able to go back to sleep and not be up nursing her for so long. It's been so nice!

Ellie, the past two months, has unfortunately been dealing with digestive issues. We had been seeing her doctor and he told us to put her on a probiotic and completely cut out milk. Also, to steer clear of processed foods, especially meat. With her and Abbie already the pickiest eaters out of the family, because of my own doings, it's been hard on what she'll eat.

I'd been feeling its more fiber related so I switched to a probiotic with fiber included and in a powder form. So she takes that in the morning and after school.

Two Fridays ago, Brant and his mom took her back to the doctors due to her vomiting again. They did an x-ray so we could see what we're dealing with. I got the call the following Monday that the scan showed she was extremely constipated and that's what was causing her nausea and vomiting. He said to continue with the probiotics and added to keep a food journal. He went ahead and scheduled her referral with a GI specialist and added "It will take 2-3 months to get in. I'd rather schedule an appointment and not need it than to need it and not get in if she needs it." He said nothing of a laxative. So last Friday, I went ahead and asked him if she could take a laxative to see if that helps. He answered that she could do Miralax. I was able to grab some two days ago and plan to start that tomorrow or Friday after school. I just don't want to start it now and she need to go to the bathroom multiple times at school from movement happening.

So if y'all could keep her in your prayers that this laxative be the thing that helps move everything out and not need a GI specialist, we would really appreciate that.
